Latin Inscription

An interesting Latin inscription was found during the excavation of a room in the area of the present Hotel Garibaldi, dating from the early imperial age. According to studies conducted so far, the plaque commemorates the elevation of a statue. The compartment from which the inscription originates has a very articulated history over time, with overlapping levels and materials dating from the 4th century BC to the 4th - 5th century AD, suggesting, together with the data acquired in the area, the presence of a fish processing activity as early as the 3rd century BC.
